Birth Through Three Months

Birth is a shocking experience. After that, the major achievement of this period is rapid growth. Infants have predominantly physical needs, which they express by crying. They are influenced most by nonverbal messages. They have very keen senses. The sense of touch is a major source of learning. Early stimulation of a babyís senses actually increases the childís intelligence.
